Our Davenport, Iowa client, the leader in high-power fiber lasers and amplifiers used in materials processing and other diverse applications, is looking for a Technical Training Manager to join their growing team.  The Training Manager is responsible for providing formal technical training to external and internal customers. It is essential the Training Manager stay current on the latest technologies offered as well as provide ideas on how to refresh courses and content for customers. Training content will also be developed and taught for customer-specific laser systems prior to shipment to their facility.

This is an onsite role near Davenport, IA open to US Citizens and Permanent Residents. 

Technical Training Manager Responsibilities

  • Create and implement laser related operator and system training as directed by new system sales such as Laser Seam Stepper Training
  • Create and deliver customer specific laser cell training prior to shipment
  • Responsible for robotic training in Basic, Advanced, and Maintenance on robotic systems, including keeping training materials accurate and up to date
  • Develop plans on how to increase Company training programs in enrollment and revenue
  • Develop brochures along with the company website to showcase the training experience
  • Maintain up-to-date qualifications as technology advances
  • Support other company departments if a training class is not in session, including but not limited to design, service and application engineering groups
  • Work with the training coordinator to create and maintain training schedule
  • Work with other groups to determine training needs based on new processes and markets; analyze and recommend additional training offerings based on these findings
  • Prepare special reports of training related activity as requested by managers
  • Occasional travel to customer site for personalized onsite training classes (5-10%)
  • Evaluate safety and functionality/risk/compliance associated with Projects. (ISO 10218-2)


  • Bachelor of Science in Education or Engineering
  • Minimum of two years work-related experience is required (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered)
  • Experience in a robotics and automation environment is preferred
  • Microsoft Office and advanced PowerPoint skills a must
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Team player able to work collaboratively with others
  • Written and verbal interpersonal and communication skills
  • Self-starter with ability to prioritize work, work independently and quickly adjust as needed
  • Ability to stand on feet for prolonged periods of time
  • Perform maintenance around work cells in the Training Center
